Global Network of (Open) Data Nodes Announced
The Open Data Institute has announced the creation of a global network that will drive valuable insights from publicly available data sets and foster global collaboration on big data initiatives. The 13 ODI ‘Nodes’ as they’re called include country-wide nodes in the USA and Canada and several regional nodes.
Francis Maude, the Minister for the Cabinet Office noted: “The establishment of ODI Nodes in UK cities will help embed an open data culture in communities, and bring the economic benefits of new and innovative data-led businesses.”
This is an exciting development for the ODI and we wish them all the best. Ulrich Atz from the ODI will be on one of our panels at our Autumn Exchange Conference on the 28th of November at the Kia Oval. We’re looking forward to hearing more!
