Queen's Speech Addresses SME Issues

In yesterday's speech, the Queen presented a renewed interest in SME development and support for the year's agenda. When speaking on the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill, the Queen said “Legislation will be introduced to help make the United Kingdom the most attractive place to start, finance and grow a business. The Bill will support small businesses by cutting bureaucracy and enabling them to access finance.”
Despite promising words, it is still unclear how the government plans on enabling access. In the wake of Vince Cable's consultation launch on an SME referral system for banks earlier in the year, many were expecting to hear a confirmation of this in the Queen's speech.
