Get the Skinny on Crowd Funding Before You Invest
09 Sep 2013
Kickstarter foiled a plan to scam backers out of $120K; an investment they thought was going into production of Kobe Red. Backers were lead to believe that they were investing in the best beef jerky possible, when in fact they were being cheated out of their money. The target goal of $2,374 was reached in just 1.5 days, showing a clear popular interest in the project. In the case of Kobe Red the originators did not publicly present themselves or give personal identities. Fake backers were produced to draw interest into the project to convince other investors.
