Private Campaign Draws Attention to Crowd Funding
Making headlines recently, Scottish brewery company BrewDog, is currently in the middle of a £4m crowd funding campaign. Opting to sell private shares, BrewDog is off to an excellent start, raising £1m within the first day of their campaign. While this equity raise exemplifies the utility of a crowd funding model, many are weary of lack of regulation for this new form of funding within the financial sector. As a call for regulation continues, many are still unsure of what this regulation could look like and how regulation can shape this nascent industry.
