Join Allia, Care International, Vista, CASS Business School, Buzzacott & Stone King as we look at whether charities are ready to take on debt : Free seminar, 4pm, 21 May, Fleet St London.
15 May 2015
We’d be delighted if you could join us at what will be a thought provoking seminar, running from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday 21 May at 160 Fleet St, London.
Our focus is on the fundamental question – why aren’t charities borrowing to increase their impact, at a time when access to low cost debt is at a high in the wider economy? It will provide a chance for charity leaders, trustees and the finance sector to consider and question their own funding strategy and learn of some of the new forms of debt finance appearing.
The easiest way to register, is simply to email us at cle@knowledgepers.com. If you are a logged in Knowledge Peers member, you can simply register on the Event Page – HERE.
We will have two Case Studies to provide some “real world” balance to our discussion. One of those case studies will be with Paul Bott, CEO of http://www.vistablind.org.uk who are based in Leicestershire. They have revenue of £7million, running a series of care centres for the visually impaired. The second Case Study will be with Mark Salway who, until recently, was Director of Finance and Operational Support at http://www.careinternational.org.uk , and is now Director of Social Finance at CASS Business School.
Andy Davis, who is ex-Editor of the Weekend FT, will be giving an overview of the new, alternative, forms of debt finance coming on to the market. Phil Caroe, from Allia, will provide an overview of how the use of Bonds as a route to Debt Finance is emerging in the sector.
The Charity Leaders’ Exchange is running research into the whole Charities and Debt issue, and initial findings will be presented at the seminar.
There will be a panel discussion with Eddie Finch (Buzzacott) and Jonathan Burchfield (Stone King) on the limits, risks and issues that charities should consider before looking towards debt finance.
Time for networking and refreshments!
If you would like to participate in the survey, please follow this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/charitydebt
If you, or any of your colleagues, would like to attend, either register via our website HERE, or simply email us at cle@knowledgepeers.com
We look forward to see you there!
Regards
Chris
