Alternative Funding Network's Crowdfunding Industry Report - Phase 1

In December, Knowledge Peers completed the first of a series of four research reports aimed at shedding light on SME-focused Investment Crowdfunding.
By focusing on industry players, this report identifies key trends within the nascent industry and provides a snap-shot of the current state of play, including sizing and industry trajectory. This report is most suitable for those interested in understanding how an SME can utilize Investment Crowdfunding to access growth capital.
Some of the key findings as related to SME funding include:
-We calculate that the Crowdfunding market has raised £263m of debt and equity for UK SMEs. We have identified over 30 active platforms operating in the UK SME market, and the majority have participated in our research.
-Investment Crowdfunding can cater to SMEs at any stage of growth and to a wide spread of sectors. There is a very strong regional (London) bias to activity though.
-Individual investors spend £1000+ per SME campaign, and do so often.
-Crowdfunding Platforms have an extensive SME offer, with many developing this to include a variety of services aimed at improving SME funding success.
The report is free of charge to full members of the Alternative Funding Network. Basic or Non-Members may purchase the report via PayPal for £75 + VAT.
